BTC Norlin Racing is a Northern Irish owned professional racing team based in Bicester, which was founded in October 2016 by Richard Irwin, Stephen Symington and Bert Taylor.
The team features two high calibre drivers and a highly experienced backroom staff and engineers who have worked for the cream of the crop in the British Touring Car Championship.
2017 sees a motivated BTC Norlin Racing team take to the competitive 32 car grid, who have set their eyes on podium finishes and targeting the independent championship.
2017 sees the return of Dave Newsham to the BTCC. After standing in for Kelvin Fletcher in 2016, Dave is very excited to get a full season under his belt.
This season sees Dave getting that much needed consistency by being reunited with a familiar car and pit crew so there is little to stop him from making his stay at BTC Norlin Racing a longer one and targeting the independent championship in the process.
Dave is confident that there is much more to come from the Chevrolet Cruze, as the car has been competitive in previous seasons without getting the testing and development that BTC Norlin Racing are currently carrying out.
2017 sees Chris Smiley in a new and very exciting team in BTC Norlin Racing. The Northern Irish team has paired him up with the very experienced, race winning BTCC driver Dave Newsham. Chris will have a lot to benefit from having such an experienced and talented team member.
Top tens and podiums have to be Chris’ goal towards the latter half of the season. Chris said “we have a lot of people to repay for all of their hard work and financial backing. The BTCC is one of the toughest touring car championships in the world and to be involved and driving in it is incredible”.
